A "hazardous substance" is any substance that has one or more of the following intrinsic "hazardous properties":
Does your organisation use any of the above Hazardous Substances above the legal trigger quantities requiring Approved Handlers? If so, then the HSNO Act requires that you must have an “approved handler” available at all times to offer advice, training, or assistance to your team members using or handling the substances.
This one day workshop has been specifically designed to provide the statutory knowledge requirements of the HSNO Act and the role of an approved handler to ensure your organisation complies with this aspect of the HSNO Law.
The training covers the principles and application of the HSNO Act, related Regulations and the generic role and responsibilities of an approved handler. This information based training is recognised with a certificate attesting to the training completed. The Christchurch City Council Compliance Officers, who are Test Certifiers, recognise this training as satisfying the requirements of the HSNO (Personnel Qualifications) Regulations for approved handlers to have an understanding of legislation, relevant standards and their role, and accept TriEx’s certificate as evidence of suitable training.
Facilitator: Rowly Brown, has worked with a wide range of hazardous substances. As a former OSH inspector and an ERMA listed HSNO advisor, Rowly has provided advice to those handling hazardous substances and monitored exposure to these materials. Rowly has been able to combine the required knowledge and applied discussion sessions to make an interesting and worthwhile course for those attending.
This one day workshop has been specifically designed to ensure you comply with this aspect of the Law.
Who should attend: Persons required to handle hazardous substances in the course of their work; Foreman, Supervisors and others required to supervise persons handling hazardous substances.
