Occupational Health Nurse

Prue Thorne what is your role at TriEx?
I have been employed as an Occupational Health Practitioner at Triex for the past four years, iniatially as the main influenza vaccine provider and carrying out employment health assessments.  I am currently contracted to the IRD part time where my main role is carrying out ergonomic assessments.
 
What does it mean that you Do and what do you love most about that?
I have always enjoyed my various roles as a Registered nurse and the variety of work situations I have been employed in.  After spending eighteen years as a  local rural district nurse I now thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to be a city girl a couple of days a week!  TriEx offers me this role change which allows me to meet many new clients at their workplace situation.  I also very much enjoy the support and frienship of the TriEx staff.
 
In addition to work how do you like to invest your time?
I am married to Allan, we have three children, Phillipa,Hamish and Virginia and seven amazing, fantastic grandchildren so I love to involve much of my spare time with them.  We live in a rural area on a farm "Arbourlea" where we have a Bed and Breakfast Accomodation and a large garden so this also takes up a great deal of my time. Allan is very involved in local council and community work and I tend to love just being at home gardening, playing golf and bridge and catching up with friends.
