Robert Acutt

Director and Safety/Occupational Hygiene Manager

Robert Acutt what is your role at TriEx?
I have a dual role at TriEx as a Director and Safety/Occupational Hygiene Manager.

Director: this is really cool…. As the one of the Directors of TriEx I spend a lot of my time planning, organising, leading and controlling management activities within our safety, occupational hygiene and first aid departments.

Safety/Occupational Hygiene Manager: As the Department Manager I am extremely fortunate to be working with two of the most highly skilled and qualified safety and occupational practitioners in NZ. With a combined experience of over 40 years, there isn’t much in the safety and occupational hygiene fields that we haven’t experienced in supporting NZ businesses in practically all industry types.

I lead the teams and support them with their work flows and also assist with the marketing of the department to new and existing clients and ensure our clients objectives, time frames and safety aspirations are met.

We see over 11,000 client company staff members a year which is really neat, because we make such a huge difference to the health, safety and wellbeing of our clients staff and their immediate families by supporting them to come home in the same or better condition than they arrived at work.

Our clinical expertise in health, wellness coaching, and extensive safety and occupational hygiene experience is why TriEx are a trusted partner to some of the most widely known company names in NZ.

What does it mean that you DO and what do you love the most about that?
Being able to create an international health, safety and wellness company developed out of NZ.

I love inspiring others to meet their goals and to get connected to their hearts and life purpose. I have the privilege to be able to surround myself with positive people who have a direct relationship to my energetic levels.

In addition to work how do you like to invest your time?

  • When I am not working I have enjoyed competing in the coast to coast and I have managed to complete it as an individual and survive in tact on 2 occasions.
  • I love to spend time with my two boys Riley who is 7 and Kalan 5. We regularly take our dirt bikes out along the Ashley river and head over to Lyttleton port on the jet ski when the sun is shining.
  • The boys and I are avid winter skiers and you can find us either up at Porters or Mt Hutt most weekends during winter.
  • I am really grateful for being able to be a hands on dad with the children and have loved this aspect of my life since my boys were born.
  • I have also trained in Alchemy, Auric Magnetic Healing, Reiki, Kinesiology, Massage and muscle testing and utilise my natural healing abilities working in a Christchurch healing clinic every other Monday and Saturday.
  • I enjoy a couple of red wines and I have a gold medal in relaxation techniques especially when I get a lie in on a Sunday morning…
  • Having real life experience managing compliance systems and being innovative and flexible, I am able to balance legislative requirements with our client’s operational commerciality.
